Heart of the Matter Fashion Show

The Cape Fear Volunteer Center is hosting the Heart of the Matter Fashion Show for the first time to benefit the Big Buddy program. The program matches volunteers up with kids who can benefit from the extra guidance of an adult buddy.

The second annual Wilmington Race for the Cure will feature hundreds of participants walking and running to support breast cancer survivors and raise funds for research. Tidal Creek Cooperative Food Market
The North Carolina Coastal Federation is holding a statewide oyster roast to raise funds and awareness of the oyster’s importance along the coast. There will also be a silent auction, live bluegrass music by Big Al and Possum Creek and Brothers Egg, door prizes, fun activities, chili and cornbread. Tickets are $35 for N.C. Coastal Federation members and $45 for nonmembers.

The Cape Fear Roller Girls begin the season with a bout against the Carolina Roller Girls, with a portion of proceeds benefitting the Rape Crisis Center.
