To continue funding the part-time Spanish teacher, marine science program and other initiatives at Wrightsville Beach School, the Wrightsville Beach School Foundation will host a casino night fundraiser at the Country Club of Landfall.

Set for 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Nicklaus Clubhouse, the casino night will feature tables for roulette, craps, poker and blackjack with professional dealers and tables.

Aimee Jones, Wrightsville Beach School Foundation board member, said the $100 tickets would include admission, play money for three hours at the tables, food catered by Landfall and beverage tickets. More chips would be available for purchase if patrons run out, but the price of those extra chips has not been determined yet, she said.

At the end of the night, the top three winners will receive prizes donated for the event. The remainder of the items donated would be up for live and silent auction, Jones said.

As of Tuesday, Feb. 4, those items include a full set of braces, tickets to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill menís basketball game against Notre Dame, a weekend at a cabin around Blowing Rock, spa treatments, $500 to Wilmington Dermatology, tennis lessons from Landfall pros, a deer hunting excursion on a private estate and more.

Audi Cape Fear also sponsored a photo booth for the evening, and Jones said there would be complimentary valet parking available.
