Wrightsville Beach stormwater manager Jonathan Babin packs dirt around the base of a 10,000 gallon cistern beside the baseball field in Wrightsville Beach Park on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Rainwater collected from the public safety facility will flow to the cistern and be used to irrigate some of the fields in the park starting in spring of 2014. The project is a collaboration with the North Carolina Coastal Federation which secured an environmental enhancement grant through the attorney general. ~ Allison Potter
