In conjunction with the 10th anniversary of Fat Tony’s Italian Pub in downtown Wilmington, the nonprofit Hope from Helen Foundation will be the beneficiary of the proceeds from the raffles, cornhole tournament and a portion of the burger sales at the Saturday, July 20 event.
Hope from Helen founder Tony Butler said he was excited the event’s main co-sponsor, Carolina Brewery, chose his organization as the beneficiary.
“They were happy to help because they have seen the good things we do to help with the nonprofits locally,” Butler said. “I was excited about it because we could have a great event in the summer to complement our big event in the winter.”
Raffle items at the event will include a custom 9-foot In the Eye longboard and other surfboards from local shapers as well as Carolina Brewery and Sweetwater Surf Shop merchandise.
Fat Tony’s general manager Jimmy Hart said Da Howlies, Mykel Barbee and potentially two other local artists will provide music.
Free and open to the public, raffle tickets will be on sale at the event and entry for the cornhole tournament will cost $5. The event will begin when Fat Tony’s opens at 11 a.m. and end when the restaurant closes at 2 a.m.
