Azalea Garden Tour applications
In addition to standing grants to the N.C. Audubon Society and scholarships to UNCW and CFCC, the Cape Fear Garden Club disburses proceeds from its Azalea Garden Tour to area nonprofits including the Battleship North Carolina, Bellamy Mansion, Cameron Art Museum, DREAMS Center for Arts Education, Habitat for Humanity, Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center, the Wilmington Railroad Museum and YMCA to name a few. Hampstead Garden Club
CFCC Landscape Gardening Student rewarded
CFCC’s Christa Cook is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship from the Hampstead Garden Club. Each year, the club provides a scholarship to the student who has completed the first year of landscape gardening courses, obtained a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and has a need for financial assistance. The Landscape Gardening program provides hands-on training in horticulture, plant propagation, greenhouse and nursery plant culture, plant identification, landscape planning, maintenance and construction.
National Public Gardens daze

From hosting top television series such as “Dawson’s Creek” and “One Tree Hill,” to holding educational summer camps for children, to serving as a backdrop for countless fairytale weddings and outdoor concerts, Airlie’s newest offerings include Ribbit the Exhibit featuring the whimsical larger-than-life copper frog sculptures by artist Andy Cobb and the Airlie Butterfly House season opener. Residents and visitors are admitted free during National Public Gardens Day.
