The Bald Head Island Conservancy recently received LEED certification for its Barrier Island Study Center. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Design) is regarded as the nations’ most respected program for the designation of environmentally friendly design. The Barrier Island Study Center has shown excellence in energy efficiency, water use, lighting and green materials used.
