The Wilmington Kiwanis Club is accepting donations for its 2nd Annual Spring Rummage Sale on Saturday, March 23, at the Brigade Boys and Girls Club. While donation drop-offs will be located at the parking lots of BB&T in Hanover Center and Lowes Foods in Monkey Junction on Saturday, March 16, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wrightsville Beach residents may have their donations picked up from now through Thursday, March 21.
Marjorie Way is the former president of the Kiwanis Club and current board member of the Brigade Boys and Girls Club, and, like other board members, lives in Wrightsville Beach. Way said on Monday, March 4, that she wanted to make donating to the sale easier for island residents.
“We couldn’t find an official pick-up place [in Wrightsville Beach],” she said. “But Wrightsville Beach is small, so people can just call me and … I’m agreeable to picking things up any time.”
Way said donation items can be anything from clothing to furniture this year.
“For this sale, there will be things for families, homes and children,” she said. “We’re opening donations up to general things people want to get out of the house.”
For donation pick-ups, call Marjorie Way at 910-256-2814.
